I fell in love with this series, Fellow Travelers, from the first second. It left a mark on me so big that I’ve watched it numerous times with many people. It’s so deep in its storytelling and compelling emotions. It combines history and a love story like no other.
I made this video to demonstrate the parallels in Hawk and Tim’s love story from the beginning to end. There’s finding each other, losing each other, and then finding each other all over again, only to part forever. Through happiness and sadness, their love remains. There’s joy, regret, love, and bittersweet sadness.
I wanted to highlight how well the story was told through image and motion as well as script and acting. The story is beautiful, the production is detailed, and the acting is exquisite.
I couldn’t help myself the first time I heard this song by Hozier. It was them all the way. Though it is the story of Francesca da Rimini in Dante’s Inferno, I think it really speaks to Hawk and Tim’s love as well. There’s the consequences of their affair, consequences that could damn them to hell as sinners (something Tim is concerned about in the beginning), but they would do it all again even then.
I’d tell them ”Put me back in it”
