Finding the planchette earrings was how this all got started. Ouiji boards have always interested me as a concept and aesthetically, so I was eager to design a set, and the first woman to come to mind was a girl named Regan MacNeil.

I was Regan’s age when I saw The Exorcist. My mom convinced me to watch it. We were a big scary movie house, so it wasn’t exactly that strange to for a mother to tell her 12 year old daughter to watch such a graphic movie. I loved it, of course, and scared the pants off my friends with it and kind of got in trouble about that. It’s got a special place in my heart, especially Father Damien for some reason. Regan’s interaction with her friend, Captain Howdy, through the Ouija board is iconic and was what came to mind.

The necklace and bracelet are made with alternating fire polish beads, sterling silver chain and wire, and milky and planchette-shaped glass beads pointing to each sterling silver cube letter. The letters on the necklace spell out GOOD BYE like it does on the point of the Ouija planchette earrings, while the bracelet contains YES and NO like its top corners. The necklace and bracelet are on flexwire with sterling silver findings. Unfortunately, even though it looks like it, the milky, greenish beads do not glow in the dark.
