This piece, made entirely from tigers eye and gold findings, is a piece I like to call the "Primitive Feminine." Unlike the Divine Feminine, which I've always imagined as more ethereal and smooth, I see the Primitive Feminine as chunky and rough, like the angular scratches of a cave painting.
This piece is heavy. It is strung on two strands of flexwire and double crimped with wire guards because of it. I honestly can't wear it for more than my work day. The earrings, on the other hand, with only one chunk each, are the perfect weight for me, and the kidney wires hang the chunks at my jaw line in a beautiful way.
All of the supplies for this piece were part of a bonus from my work at Beadology Iowa for helping the store make it through lockdown and I made it immediately. I am very blessed to have a generous boss that supports my creative endeavors. It helps that the projects teach me things that become useful at work anyway. Win win.
